Ilene Patasnik and Associates, LLC. was founded by Ilene Patasnik in 2002. As a former V.P., Human Resources and Organization Effectiveness, and member of the Operating Committee of a $1.5 billion dollar consumer package goods company, Ilene understands the critical role that senior management teams play in creating the right culture to support their market leadership strategy. Ilene learned first-hand that high impact senior management teams are the key to leading high performance organizations.

Accordingly, the firm specializes in implementing customized solutions that improve senior management team effectiveness, drive passionate business cultures, and examine the critical balance between creating a compelling “vision” that energizes an organization and addressing the “realities” that may be getting in their way of realizing it. This integrated approach typically includes management team, culture, and productivity assessments to cost effectively uncover the obstacles to achieving an organization’s vision, strategy and optimal culture required to support it. We also specialize in facilitating “collective team” resolutions to solve for the barriers and create measurable action plans that drive mutual accountability for change.

 

Through long-standing consulting partner alliances, our firm seeks out and collaborates with leading experts, coaches and consultants with impressive academic and business credentials as well as a substantial depth of practical experience. Although not original researchers, we seek to bring the best and most relevant schools of thought to our clients and apply them, as appropriate. We also believe in establishing knowledge transfer opportunities with HR and OD practitioners within our client companies.

 

Ilene Patasnik has more than 20 years of executive management and organization effectiveness experience within the pharmaceutical, consumer package goods, diagnostics, and services industries. Ilene specializes in assessing senior management team effectiveness. As “trustees” of the organizational culture, it is critical for senior management to understand how well they are promoting or hindering a culture that drives their chosen market leadership strategy. This diagnostic process leads to the implementation of strategies to ensure the leadership team role-models and cascades the right messages and processes throughout the organization.

 

In August, 2011, Ilene and Terrence Overholser co-authored a chapter in a business publication titled Success Simplified with Dr. Stephen Covey, Sr. and other organization development professionals. Their  chapter, Organizational Leadership Simplified was devoted to the impact that “real” leadership teams have on creating a distinctive competitive advantage that is energized by a collective team purpose, audacious team goals, and creating and constantly shaping the right culture and behaviors to support it. 

In addition, Ilene focuses her efforts on improving organizational strength through coaching, developing, and motivating leaders to reach their highest potential. She believes that leadership coaching is an instrumental process to accelerate on-boarding, executive development and retention of high potential talent. Through effective coaching, Ilene helps mid to senior level executives expand their knowledge and effectiveness in the “culture, team and people” aspects of their leadership role. Most of her assignments enable clients to learn how their interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors impact their ability to lead high impact teams, promote passionate work cultures and achieve outstanding business results.

Ilene earned a M.A. degree in Human Resources Management and Development and a B.S. degree in Communication. Ilene also received a certification in “Strategic Human Resources Management” from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Management. She was a recipient of the TWIN (Tribute to Women and Industry) award and is a member of Cambridge “Who’s Who.” 


Ilene is certified in numerous 360 degree feedback and assessment instruments. This includes the Hogan Series, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Benchmarks, Skill Scope, Firo-B, DiSC, Thomas Kilman Conflict Mode, and the David Campbell Leadership and team assessment series. She is a member of the International Coach Federation, New Jersey Professional Coaches Association, SHRM, ASTD, and the Association of Psychological Type (APT)

 

Terry Overholser, President and Founder of Management Central, Inc.  (www.managementcentral.com) has been partnering on strategic consulting and team engagements with Ilene Patasnik & Associates, LLC for over 12 years. Terry earned his undergraduate degree in English Literature and began his career in the financial services sector where he earned a reputation for combining sound business strategy with astute people skills in effecting significant business turnarounds both domestically and abroad.  After 17 years managing diverse financial services businesses in Asia, Europe, and Africa-Middle East, Terry returned to New York as President of its international operating subsidiary.


After reversing several years of losses through a major shift in business strategy, Terry decided to return to school to earn a graduate degree in what he loved and did best—facilitating change in both people and organizations.  At Columbia University he earned his M.A. and Ed.M. in Organization and Counseling Psychology.  In 1999 Terry established Management Central to assess organizational, team and executive effectiveness with objective data against which progress could be measured through the use of internet based tools.  Terry’s special expertise is identifying the unique strengths and developmental challenges of executives and their teams, and resolving the values conflicts that fragment organization culture, impair engagement, and diminish trust within management teams and between executives.  


To assist in the process, awareness tools are utilized as needed.  Depending on the specific client issues, these can include talent and emotional intelligence self-tests, Leadership 360s, culture assessment, and team effectiveness surveys.  The tools are developed and maintained by a small team in Kolkata, India.

Terry and Ilene Patasnik co-authored a chapter in

Carole Berger, President of Dorchester Associates (www.dorchester-associates.com) has been partnering with Ilene Patasnik & Associates, LLC for over 10 years. Using her expertise in individual, organizational, and team development, Carole provides customized management training and skill development solutions to our clients. For more than 20 years, Carole has worked throughout the US, in Latin America and Canada.  Her work has been cited in The Training and Development Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, and published in Work Dynamics.  She has also been a guest on the TV show, Working Smart.  Her biography appears in The World Who’s Who of Women. Carole earned an M.S. in Counseling and a B.A. in Education and Psychology.
